08/22/04 - Started my first set of injections.  Received 10 units of Lupron each morning.  Michael gave me these injections in the thigh using a small insulin syringe. 

09/03/04 - Met Dr. Brown and had ultrasound of ovaries.  He gave a good report with potential of 16 eggs.  He started me on a conservative dose of stimulants.  The dosage he assigned was 2 vials of Gonal-F and 1 vial of Repronex.  Michael gave me this intramuscular injection in the upper outer quadrant of my rear end.  It was 1-cc of fluid in a syringe with a 1 1/2-inch needle.  Continued the Lurpon throughout the entire process.

09/07/04 - Monitoring appointment. Eggs not growing much and blood work still low.  Dr. Brown increased the dosage to 3:1 each evening.

09/10/04 - Monitoring appointment.  Blood work starting to rise and eggs starting to grow.  Dr. Brown suggested if blood level does not increase we may cancel the cycle and try again.  Moved up to 4:1.

09/14/04 - Monitoring appointment.  Blood work continuing to rise.  Dr. Brown guesses we will retrieve 6 eggs, continue 4:1.

09/16/04 - Monitoring appointment.  Dr. Brown thinks we will be ready by the weekend.  Continue 4:1.

09/18/04 - Dr. Duffy did monitoring.  He said between 6-10 potential eggs.  He gave instructions to give trigger shot that night at 9:00.  This was a new shot and we stopped the Lupron and the stimulants. 

09/20/04 - Egg retrieval.  Under sedation they removed eggs.  Also collected Michael's specimen and both taken to lab.  Recovery at home consisted of sleeping most of the afternoon.  No pain medication was needed.

09/22/04 - Called and spoke with Laura at FIRM.  She said we had 2 embryos.  One 4-cell (grade 2) and 3-cell (grade 3).  Dr. Brown wanted me to come and do a 2-day transfer of both embryos.  Dr. Duffy did the transfer.  Once in the operating room, he said we had 3 embryos and gave me the option or transferring 2 or 3.  I chose 3, YIKES!!!  I was completely awake during the transfer.  After laying still for 1/2-hour I was able to go home.  Recovery at home was laying in bed and taking it easy for the day.  Progesterone injections were started at 1-cc intramuscular each morning.

09/28/04 - Increase the Progesterone injection to 2-cc each morning. 

09/29/04 - Broke down and took Home Pregnancy Test (HPT).  It had a faint positive line.

10/1,2,3,4/04 - Took another HPT.  Line was a little darker each day.  On the 4th it was as dark as the reference line.

10/05/04 - Big day, took another HPT.  It was very dark.  Went to FIRM and had the blood test.  Patti called that afternoon that the blood test was positive!!!!  My beta levels were 199.

10/07/04 - Another blood test done at FIRM.  They are looking for the number to double every 48-36 hours.  My beta was 474, over DOUBLE!!!!  I am now 4 weeks 2 days pregnant.  Now I have been transferred from an infertility patient to a pregnant patient.
