5/24/05  Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and non-stress test

5/19/05  Non-Stress Test.  Perfect, BP was down.

5/17/05   Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and stress test.  Scored 10 on the test, BP was up a little.

5/11/05   Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and stress test.  Upped insulin to 10 units at night and 4 units in the morning.  Scored 10 (perfect on the tests).

5/2/05   Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and stress test.  Started insulin 5 units in the evening.  Baby looked great on sonogram and on stress test.  BP was okay, repeat everything next week.

4/28/05  Breast Feeding Class.  Sad to finish up our classes but it means everything is getting closer.  Lots of information and reassurance everything will work.

4/27/05  Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and non-stress test.  Biophysical profile ultrasound looked great and so did stress test.  We did get another estimated weight and he is BIG!!!  He is measuring 5 lbs. 14 oz., this puts him in the 89% for his age.  Insulin injections prescribed, due to sugar numbers being high in the morning.

4/26/05  Interview Pediatrician.  Meeting went great, received lots of information from the doctors office.  Both doctors are very friendly and it seems like a great place.  One more thing completed, can mark it off the list.

4/21/05  Birth Class.  Last night, focused on what to expect the first month home.  Made everything seem even more real and we realize we are in the home stretch. 

4/20/05  Dr. appointment, ultrasound, and non-stress test.  Everything looked good and passed the stress test and physical profile ultrasound with a perfect score (10/10).  Blood sugar was elevated, maybe due to stress of Michael having emergency surgery and being in the hospital.  If still high next week will start insulin in the evening.

4/14/05  Birth Class.  Finished up with the 3 (and final) stage of labor. 

4/13/05  Dr. appointment.  Good check up, blood sugar okay, blood pressure okay.

4/07/05  Birth Class, learned about epidurals and c-sections.  Very interesting information!!!  Also learned about the first 2 stages of labor and breathing techniques to use. 

3/31/05  Started birthing classes.  Lots of basic information, from packing the hospital bag, learning about contractions, and relaxation techniques.  It was fun to be around other couples (9) that are all due with their 1st baby around the same time as us.

3/28/05  Dr. appointment and sonogram.  BP was great and overall a good appt.  Had sonogram which showed him head down, no pictures but did find out he weighs 3 lbs. which puts him in the 57%.

3/21/05  3 hour glucose test-failed.  Diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  Started diet which consists of eating 6 small meals throughout the day.

3/16/05  Dr. appointment and glucose screener.  Failed glucose screener, go back on 3/21 and take the 3 hour test.  BP is normal, but iron was a little low.  Started iron supplements.  Will start seeing Dr. on weekly basis to monitor BP starting 3/28.

3/2/05  Routine Dr. Appointment.  Everything going smoothly, bottom number BP was a little elevated so doctor put me on a diuretic.  Go back in 2 weeks for 1 hour glucose test.  Also scheduled ultrasound in 4 weeks to check on his size and weight.

2/19/05 Hospital Orientation/Tour.  Toured the woman's pavilion.  Saw the labor and delivery room and the private hospital rooms that mom and baby get.  Received more information to help us prepare for the big day.  Signed up for birthing classes that start in March.
